Precious in the sight of the LORD Is the death of His
godly ones. Psalm 116:15
«For if we live, we live for the Lord, or if
we die, we die for the Lord; therefore whether we live or die, we are
the Lord's.» ( Rom. 14:8).
«- we die for the Lord!» This is how it is, what the death of a
believer concerns. The Lord follows him into it and through it unto the
other side, to life in heaven, in the beatitude with God. He does not
leave us in death, He will not let us walk alone through it, but «even
though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil,
for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.» (Ps.
The death of His godly ones are precious in His sight, because it is
the beginning of their home journey, it is their depart and be with
Christ; which is very far better, as Paul writes. (Phil. 1:23).
There is a very fine picture of this in the Scripture - we read
about that Jesus took His seat on high - He sat down on the right hand
of the Majesty on high - but when Stephen, the first martyr, faced death,
he witnesses: «Behold, I see the heavens opened up and the Son of
Man standing at the right hand of God!» (Acts
He sees the heavens opened to him - he shall not come there and
have to knock on the door! - and the Son of Man who now has risen to
This is how your entry into the heavens will be, you who in your
need has taken your refuge to Him here on earth - He has risen to
You probably think this is to much for someone like you? Yes, that
is true, but that is how it is!
By the sickness that caused Lazarus' death, the sisters sent a
message to Jesus, and these were the words: «Lord, behold, he whom
You love is sick.» (John 11:3).
But can you use this on yourself? Look what is happening on
Golgotha - that answer should be clear enough!
